How To Transfer Calls To a Staff Cell Phone
To transfer calls, below the
number pad on your phone is a row of 3 buttons. The far right button is
the transfer button. If you get a call that needs transferred, just let
the caller know you are transferring them, press the far right button, then
dial the number. If internal, you just dial the extension like you do
when you call (11286), then you will hear the call ringing into the other
persons phone. You can stay on the line & announce the caller, or
just hang up once you hear the phone start to ring.
If you get a call and the caller is wanting to speak to one of our staff members who has a
department issued cellphone, you can transfer the call directly to them.
Instead of dialing the last 5 digits of a phone
number, as you would do to transfer to another person here in the building, you
will need to dial 9 plus the cellphone number. Most of the department
cellphones have the 515 area code, so this is not a long distance call.
If the staff members cellphone number is a different area code, such as Dawn
Kruse, you would dial 917123552843, then release the
call. The same in true whether you are working at the switchboard or from
your office phone.
How To Transfer Your Office Phone To Your Cell Phone
To transfer your office phone to
your cellphone, dial #9, then the number, preceded by another 9 for the outside
line. So, for example to transfer calls to your cell, you would dial
#998027313. The only time calls wont automatically roll to your
cellphone would be if you were on a call. For some reason, it bounces
back to the office phone. When you want to take the office phone off of
forwarding, just dial ##9 and it is back to normal.
