Note: Always remember that data on your local hard drive IS NOT backed-up. Local storage should only be used when an internet connection is not possible. Always remember to copy any locally stored files to your H drive folder once you regain access.
How to make a folder on your hard drive
- Hit Windows Key+e to open Windows Explorer
- Highlight your C drive and press enter
- Hit Ctrl+Shift+n to create a new folder.
- Type a name for the folder. A good choice might be local or move. Then press enter.
How to move files from your hard drive folder to your H drive folder
- Hit Windows+e to open Windows Explorer
- Highlight the C drive and hit enter
- Highlight the local folder you created and saved your files in then hit enter
- Hit Ctrl+a to select all the files in the folder
- Hit Crtl+x to cut the selected files.
- Hit Windows+e to open another copy of Windows Explorer
- Highlight the H drive and hit enter.
- Highlight user and hit enter
- Highlight your folder and then hit enter.� You may have a certain place within this folder that you need to go to with this folder. If you do, highlight it and press enter.
- Hit ctrl+v to paste the files into your H drive folder. This will remove the originals from your local hard drive.
