##2023 LEAP Code of Conduct

As a student attending LEAP through the Iowa Department for the Blind (IDB) I understand my first priority while here in the program is to learn. I agree to the following code of conduct to ensure a safe learning environment that encourages success for both myself and my peers:

###Student Bill of Rights:

As a LEAP student at the Iowa Department for the blind I understand my rights are as follows:

Grievance Procedure:

If a student believes that his/her rights have been violated, that student may bring their concerns to the Education and Training Director. If a student has an accusation against the Education and Training Director, that student may bring their concerns to the Iowa Department for the Blind Director

ACKNOWLEDGMENT

I have read the Code of Conduct and Student Bill of Rights. I understand them both and have asked questions if I am unsure what something means. I recognize that the Code of Conduct exists in order to provide an environment where all students can learn, and I agree to abide by it during my training at LEAP. I also understand that serious violations of Code of Conduct may result in the suspension or termination of my training at The Iowa Department for the Blind. Serious violations include, but are not limited to: physical violence, use of illegal substances, sexual activity, and/or an unwillingness to follow through with program responsibilities over an extended period of time.
